Lucy is HEAL’s Communications Manager. She leads the Communications team and is in charge of managing the social media assistant. She coordinates the strategic approach to HEAL’s communications work, as well as developing material for HEAL and the dissemination of press releases, publications and outreach to various stakeholders.
Before joining HEAL, Lucy worked as the Policy and Advocacy Officer at the Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development (nrg4SD) on a range of issues from climate change, biodiversity conservation to water and sanitation. She was responsible for the policy and communications work of the Network representing members in international negotiations especially at EU and UN level. Previous to her work at nrg4SD, Lucy was the EU Advocacy Assistant in Oxfam International’s EU Office and a policy assistant at the South West UK Brussels office. She has lived and worked in Brussels since November 2009.
Lucy holds a B.A. in European Studies with French from Royal Holloway, University of London and completed an ERASMUS year at Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France where she studied Political Science and History of Art.
In her free time she attends evening art classes and Dutch lessons, enjoys photography, visiting art galleries and museums, travelling, swimming and music. Lucy is the coordinator of an Amnesty International English speaking group in Brussels and volunteers for Serve the City, Expats for UNICEF and Oxfam Belgium.
