HEAL supports appeal for a ban of highly hazardous pesticides
Nearly 400 organisations from 100 countries including HEAL call on governments and corporations to take concrete steps towards a progressive ban on highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) and their substitution with eco-system-based alternatives.
Despite numerous ‘safe use’ programs, the ‘safe use’ of HHPs is not possible, and humans, animals, wildlife and the environment continue to feel the negative impacts. A progressive phase-out and ban of HHPs, along with new policies for supporting alternatives, can make a big change towards a healthy and sustainable world for all.
The call was launched by Pesticide Action Network International and the latest count of signatures on 3 August 2015 show that 394 organisations from 100 countries call for action.
