Appel de la Jeunesse – Success of " Protect your hormones" campaign
With the support of researchers and scientists, Appel de la Jeunesse’s goal is to bring awareness to young people aged 18 to 34 on the impact of environmental issues on their health.
Over the past months, core members of the organisation have raised awareness of endocrine disruptors in a fun way at universities with the "Let’s talk about sex" conference. The presentations focused on a wide range of consumer products that could be used on a ‘date’ (food, cosmetics, condoms) and the health risks linked to their daily use.
To spread the message further, the “Protect your hormones” campaign was launched on in February with a quiz testing young people’s knowledge of endocrine disruptors. More than 35000 young people completed the test, and more than 8,000 have signed up to receive e-mails with advice. The "Protect your hormones" campaign video received thousands of views, while the media coverage the campaign in over 40 articles. As a result, many people are liking the Facebook page which has never been so active. Finally, the campaign ended on a proactive note with a petition urging companies that produce lubricant to make their ingredients public. A new campaign video is coming soon.
