EFA - Four more MEPs support the EP Interest Group on Allergy and Asthma
On 6 May, one day after World Asthma Day, the President of the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations (EFA) Breda Flood and the leadership of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), met with several MEPs to raise awareness about the growing challenges posed by allergy and asthma. They also called for more action through the newly formed European Parliament Interest Group on Allergy and Asthma.
Following meetings with EFA and EAACI, 5 new MEPs - Nessa Childers (S&D, Ireland), Elisabetta Gardini (EPP, Italy), Karin Kadenbach (S&D, Austria), Aldo Patriciello (EPP, Italy), Anna Záborská (EPP, Slovakia) -now support the group, which is led by MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen.
You can register now to attend the next Interest Group meeting on 1 July, focusing on the link between allergy, asthma and air pollution and will feed into the discussions on the review of the Clean Air Policy Package at the European Parliament. EFA is calling for more support from MEPs on this important topic for the health of Europeans.
