EFA launches call to action on respiratory allergies
The European Federation of Allergy & Airways Diseases Patients´ Association (EFA) was joined by EU policy-makers and the European allergy community in Brussels to launch its new respiratory allergies book. The book provides new data on the most common and underestimated chronic disease in the EU – respiratory allergies – and a call to action which includes improving air quality. Respiratory allergies create a heavy burden on the economy and society. It is estimated that asthma alone costs 17.7 billion EUR per year in Europe, and the loss of productivity is estimated at nearly 10 billion EUR. EFA is collecting signatories for its call to action.
