FNE – Brussels should bury this herbicide
France Nature Environnement (FNE) continues to call on Member States and France in particular to vote against the reauthorisation of glyphosate.
For Denez L’Hostis, President of FNE: "The European institutions must serve the general interest and prohibit this dangerous chemical for the environment and human health, and not give in once more the weight of the lobbies."
Fifty Members of the European Parliament recently commissioned a urine test with results that are chilling: while all MEPs had a high content of glyphosate in their urine, some results exceeded 35 times the threshold of water.
FNE highlights in its press release that there are numerous alternatives to herbicides. Agro-ecology is a full of solutions that should be widely available. The use of herbicides can also be replaced by tillage and mechanical weeding.
