Générations Futures: Launch of campaign for 100% organic in local canteens and municipalities

Générations Futures and partner organisations have launched the “0 phyto 100 % bio” project to identify, encourage and promote the work of municipalities for 100 percent organic meals in the institutional catering sector.

Previously, the French « Grenelle Forum » on the Environment established several objectives including 20 percent organic meals to be served in institutional catering sectors and a reduction of 50 percent of pesticides, but very few French municipalities followed these goals.

This project by Générations Futures and partner organisations wants to promote at national level, the work of municipalities who are engaged at local level and can challenge the candidates in the municipal elections.

A press conference was held on 27 February in Paris to launch the project, its objectives and the tools available such as a mobilisation kit for citizens. This was also an opportunity for political candidates to engage with the press. The event was co-hosted by Générations Futures, Agir pour l’environnement, Bio Consom’acteurs, Collectif citoyen les Engraineurs and Naturparif.
