IBFAN – Report on carbon footprint due to milk formula
The International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) has released a report on the carbon footprint from milk formula. This study, done in cooperation with the Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI), focuses on various selected countries of the Asia-Pacific Region.
With this report, IBFAN hopes to address the challenging task of calculating the carbon footprint of milk formula. Despite the rapid growth of the milk formula industry, especially in developing countries, which are most vulnerable to climate change, few studies have examined the GHG emissions from milk formula.
