INCHES: 7th International Network on Children’s Health, Environment and Safety Conference, November 2013

From 20 – 22 November, the International Network on Children’s Health, Environment and Safety (INCHES) is organising its 7th International Conference in Jerusalem.

Children are one of the most vulnerable groups in society with regard to exposure to environmental factors and there is still a lot to be done in the field of children´s environmental health. This conference brings together professionals to discuss the latest developments in this field and offers a platform for dealing with health problems of children caused by important environmental influences.

The objectives are to provide an international forum for the latest research findings in children’s environmental health; define the relationship between environmental contaminants and children’s health; strengthen the importance of prenatal exposure to environmental factors on pregnancy outcome; identify opportunities to minimise childhood prenatal and postnatal exposure to environmental contaminants; provide insight in the activities in the field of science and policy interface; build a platform of knowledge at the international level; develop a greater awareness among health professionals about children’s health, environment and safety; and initiate future directions in research in the field of children’s environmental health.
