Vivo Sano: Participation at Stakeholder Seminar on Radiofrequency fields and health
On 5 June 2013 Fundación Vivo Sano participated at the World Health Organisation stakeholder seminar on Radiofrequency Fields which aimed to review current policies on this issue across the world.
It provided an opportunity for participants to present their views on specific questions, exchange information on national risk management practices and discuss rationale for and the impact of risk management practices in different countries.
The seminar also produced an ‘Environmental Health Criteria Monograph on Radiofrequency policies’. Suggestions on technical topics to be covered in the monograph relevant to risk management practices were gathered during the seminar.
The monograph includes a scientific review of all studied health outcomes and it will provide an overview of risk management policies and practices around the world.
The recommendation from Vivo Sano was to apply the precautionary principle among all countries in order to avoid a potentially significant harmful impact across the world’s population in the next 20 years.
