Ahead of a key vote in the European Parliament, HEAL is one of over 550 civil society organisations from 40 countries, including all EU member states, urging democratic forces to act for a strong and independent civil society, including through adequate funding.
On 9/10 April, the European Parliament’s FEMM committee is set to vote on the opinion to the BUDG INI report on A Revamped Long-term Budget for the Union in a changing world, the EU’s next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). HEAL has sent a letter to members of the committee.
For the post-2027 MFF, HEAL urges members of the committee to support
- Investments in better health, not pollution, while promoting equity
- Setting strong conditions for healthy and zero pollution investments
- Swift phase out of EU subsidies for fossil fuels
